Aboriginal Health Practitioner Immunisation Project

SAWCAN is currently running a project that will upskill the Aboriginal Health Practitioner workforce within our Partner Organisations, enabling them to independently vaccinate community members.
This project is led by a Registered Nurse specialising in immunisation and supported by a Diploma-qualified Aboriginal Health Practitioner. It takes a holistic approach, offering face-to-face training, developing new Scope of Practice documents, and establishing appropriate clinical governance frameworks. Students who participate will also receive onsite support post-training to consolidate their learnings and build confidence in their practice.
